Jungheinrich stresses the youth of its rental fleet |
Jungheinrich has announced a GBP6 million (USD9.7 million) investment in forklifts and other handling products for its UK short-term rental fleet.
The manufacturer now has over 4,000 models in its short-term rental fleet, most less than 24 months old.
Neil Warren, Jungheinrich UK Ltd's used equipment and short-term rental director, claims the fleet is the youngest on the market. "And because our short-term rental trucks are, on average, less than two years old, our clients get state-of-the-art equipment that not only looks good but is energy efficient and highly reliable," he says.
Jungheinrich reports that the short-term rental market is buoyant across the UK, with particularly strong demand from companies operating in the warehousing sector looking to cover seasonal peaks in demand, and the emerging events industry - where trucks are often needed to help with the build up and breakdown of, for example, a festival or sporting occasion.
The fleet expansion follows similar moves by other major suppliers.
In July, Linde Material Handling UK added 200-plus forklifts, two of which are heavy trucks with 45 T capacities, to take its fleet to around 10,000 machines
