The British summer weather may have been too hot for a forklift that suddenly caught fire while a man was using it.
The unnamed man was driving the forklift at a Preston delivery yard last Friday when it burst into flames and set alight a car parked nearby. Firefighters used a single jet hose to douse the flames, the
Lancashire Evening Post reported.
The man, who suffered superficial burns, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital (RPH) and released the same day.
A spokesperson for RPH said: "We are looking into how it managed to catch alight, although our initial thoughts are that it overheated in the hot weather."
