A forklift on the Island Lumber property caught fire after an employee operating the machine noticed smoke coming from the engine.
According to the
Barnstable Patriot, the fire was contained to the forklift by another Island Lumber employee before the fire department arrived.
There were no injuries and the fire was extinguished before it reached any other buildings, equipment or material property.
The cause of the fire was likely a malfunction of the engine, according to a fire department official.
