Tyre specialist First Industrial Tyres (FIT) has been named as Continental Specialty Tyres' exclusive agent for the north east of England. This appointment is part of the expansion of Continental's premium fitting and servicing network throughout the UK and Ireland.

FIT is the latest member of Continental Tyre's national Conti Industrial Fleet Services network which supplies solid and pneumatic Continental tyres to the materials handling market.

"Continental is one of the leading tyre manufacturers in the world and we're proud to be associated with such an established brand by being a member of this well respected, independent network."

FIT will run Conti Industrial Fleet Services from its depot in Washington, which was opened last year to respond to the demand for industrial tyres in the north east of England. As well as holding a static press, FIT also has a mobile press to service its clients' fleets on site.

First Industrial Tyres, with nine branches across the UK, is a national mobile tyre fitting specialist for industrial tyres and, besides Continental, is the exclusive distributor for the Global Rubber range of industrial tyres.
