The first Reachstacker from SANY, an SRSC4531G, arrived in Sweden. This was celebrated at the premises of the Swedish dealer Göteborgs Truckservice GTS in Göteborg. The machine was uncovered in glory and glamour in front of the new proud owners NTEX and a number of invited visitors. "It is wonderful that the day finally arrived when the first
SANY machine was delivered to Sweden", says Antti Laakso, MD, Göteborgs Truckservice GTS AB. "Now we will be able to show interested customers how well equipped SANY machines are and point out the innovative solutions with regards to driver safety and operational safety. For instance, one very helpful and unique feature on the SANY Reachstacker is the 360° surround camera." This feature has recently been shortlisted for the FLTA award in the category of Safety, being issued yearly by British Forklift Truck Association.
The
SANY Reachstacker 4531G is developed by European specialists and built at the SANY factory in Bedburg, Germany. Earlier this year GTS acquired the general dealership for sales and rental of SANY Reachstackers, empty container trucks, heavy forklifts and other harbour and terminal equipment for Sweden.
In Italy,
SANY just put into operation their second Reach Stacker for Terminal Intermodale Venezia (TIV). TIV got their first SANY Reach Stacker in September 2013 in order to respond to their increasing volumes of container throughput. TIV is a privately owned container terminal whose main operations include berthing allocation of vessels along its quays and the loading, discharge and storage of all types of containers including reefers. The terminal operator has faced significant growth over the past years demonstrated by its overall increase in annual volumes and emergence from the financial crisis. In 2013, the terminal handled more than 235,000 TEUs. With the positive trend continuing for TIV, they added another SANY Reach Stacker to their fleet last month being very satisfied with the very good uptime of the equipment and the reliable after sales service provided by
SANY. TIV operates 11 Reach Stackers for full containers in total and all machines are working more than 3000 hours per year. "In our operations it's essential to have the equipment in an efficient status at all time to avoid delays for terminal users (shipping lines, hauliers, etc.) and to avoid reduction in productivity", Roberto Semenzato, General Manager of TIV in Venice, points out. "In this view, reliability of equipment together with a minimum of time consumption to repair in case of breakdowns, easy preventive maintenance and after sales service of the equipment manufacturer are the key factors for a good uptime."
At TIV, SANY Reach Stackers are utilized in yard operations and vessel operations. The machines are mainly used for positioning containers from stacking areas to trailers and trucks and from quay to trailers and vice versa.

SANY has been introducing their European range of port equipment since 2013. Until then, the SANY machines had only been available for the non-CE markets. By modifying the existing technology in their European Headquarters in Germany, the Reach Stackers have been developed in order to meet and in some cases exceed European safety, quality, and performance standards and are now delivered with CE certificates. Earlier this year, the new Tier 4 emission engines have been included into the range as well. SANY Europe put a high focus on safety and equips the European generation of Reach Stackers with new features that improve the performance while reducing the total cost of ownership to the user. Main highlights include the integration of AdBlue technology, full variable fan drive control, an oversized cooling system with separated circuits for hydraulic and brakes oil, fully redundant CanBus technology (both hydraulics and joystick), an automatic parking brake system when leaving the drivers seat, redundant antitipping. Those features are standard in every machine. Owners of the new Reach Stackers benefit from a reduced average fuel consumption both while operating and idle, the service intervals are longer and the noise level reaches the lowest standard in the industry.

Equipment has been delivered and is operating in Germany, Belgium, the UK, Portugal, Hungary, Denmark, Russia, Italy and now Sweden. In Australia, Pacific National is operating the made in Germany Reach Stacker of SANY. The expansion of
