Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) has appointed Jungheinrich UK Ltd as its official materials handling equipment partner.
Andrew Harrison, ESSA's deputy director, says: "Partnerships are a key driver behind many of our industry and member initiatives and, combined with Jungheinrich's experience of the materials handling sector and their desire to drive standards within this area of the events industry, we're really looking forward to working with them over the coming months."
ESSA is a trade association representing contractors and suppliers of goods and services to the exhibition industry and, through its network of partners, aims to promote best practice across a wide range of disciplines.
"Jungheinrich UK is a leading supplier of materials handling equipment to the events industry and we have supplied major sporting events, live events, festivals, concerts, exhibitions, venues and more, so we are delighted to become ESSA's official materials handling equipment partner," says Adam Cafe, Jungheinrich's events and exhibitions sector hire manager.
Cafe adds that the partnership is an important step in promoting the Jungheinrich brand to this growing sector and the company wants to work closely with the organisation in a consultative role "to ensure that companies operating in the events arena are getting the best from their materials handling equipment and using the most appropriate, safest and cost-efficient products for the job".
Jungheinrich UK Ltd has over 4,000 forklifts, telehandlers and other plant available for short- term rental, and all products are available for next-day delivery on the UK mainland.
Separately, Jungheinrich UK staff have raised over GBP10,000 (USD16,100) for cancer research by taking part in a series of 5 km (3.1 mi.) Race for Life fun runs. Jungheinrich paid the entry fee for members of its staff or their partners who wished to complete the fundraising courses and the athletes then generated additional sponsorship from family and friends.
Engineers at Jungheinrich's Warrington facility transformed one of the company's new-generation torque converter models by spraying it a vivid pink colour. The truck featured prominently at all the Race for Life events.
