EnerSys®, the worldwide leader for industrial batteries and chargers, is continuously developing innovative energy solutions with eco-friendly features to benefit its customers. With the introduction of both Water Less® and XFC FLEX™ battery ranges, EnerSys® offers added value solutions that meet daily customer's requirements.

LESS IS MORE.......

MUCH LESS TOPPING UP WITH HAWKER WATER LESS®
The Hawker Water Less® motive power batteries from EnerSys® allow greatly extended periods between topping up - between 4 and 13 weeks - and produce a reduction in battery maintenance labour of between 60% and 75%.

Providing a high level of power and reliability for all industrial traction applications, the Water Less® uses proven PzS technology and advanced components to give increased efficiency. The battery has a reduced prism height and new flip top plugs. As well as possessing a larger electrolyte capacity Hawker Water Less® has an electrolyte level indicator fitted as standard to inform the user exactly when topping up with water is necessary.

Hawker Water Less® batteries are suitable for all applications and can be recharged with both 50 Hz and HF chargers. This in turn brings added flexibility to operating your battery fleet. A period between topping up of 4 weeks is achievable when used with 50 Hz chargers.

If charged with Hawker® HF technology, Water Less® requires topping up at approximately 8 weeks. This brings considerable additional savings with reduced electricity costs and less use of water. When used in conjunction with Hawker® HF chargers and electrolyte circulation technology, a 13 week period between topping up can enable battery maintenance to be scheduled with truck servicing, or even incorporated into your maintenance agreement.

Topping up has always been an important issue for motive power battery users with neglect resulting in reduced battery performance and trucks not reaching the end of their shift and consequent production disruption. Enersys® has developed Hawker Water Less® batteries to address this issue and to help users to obtain maximum up-time, lower maintenance costs, lower energy consumption and where possible to align battery top up procedures with scheduled maintenance. Used together with Hawker® single-point filling systems, electrolyte circulation, HF charging and Enersys® battery fleet management solutions, Hawker Water Less® brings considerable labour and electricity usage savings to motive power operations.

XFC FLEX™ LIKES OPPORTUNITY CHARGE

The new generation of Hawker XFC FLEX™ batteries, designed for cleaning machines and small industrial electric vehicles (pallet trucks and automatic guided vehicles) , likes to be charged rapidly. They are particularly suitable for opportunity charging.

The XFC FLEX™ produces up to 30% more power density than similar batteries and can be recharged in less than 3 hours from 60% DoD when used with it's matching high frequency (HF) EnerSys® charger.

Unlike traditional battery technology XFC FLEX™ batteries prefer charge to be topped up as and when convenient. They are practically maintenance free and environmentally friendly with minimum gassing which makes then ideal for use in shops, public areas and sensitive manufacturing locations. When a vehicle is not in use its XFC FLEX™ battery should be plugged into the HF charger for re-charge making it ready for the next duty cycle. As a result, the focus is on energy throughput rather than maximising battery capacity.

The XFC FLEX™ gas recombination battery range comprises a cell system constructed from special alloy thin grid plates. The electrolyte is absorbed in a microporous separator. This highly advanced 'pure lead' technology allows very fast charging. The specially engineered plates are ideally suited to electrical vehicle applications with multi-shift operations.
