 NexSys from EnerSys |
EnerSys has received EE rating classification from UL on its NexSys batteries for powered industrial trucks.
UL Standards require that EE-rated trucks protect against inherent fire hazards and are provided with additional safeguards to the electrical system to prevent emission of hazardous sparks and limit surface temperatures. The rating requires all electrical equipment to be completely enclosed.
To further enhance the EE-rated product, EnerSys has incorporated an onboard charger into the battery pack to provide plug-in-anywhere convenience, enabling opportunity charging while optimising battery life.
"EnerSys takes an innovative systems approach to motive power applications, always finding intelligent ways to boost efficiency and productivity," says Chad Uplinger, general manager, specialty markets at EnerSys. "The NexSys battery and charger system enables full recharging in less than five hours and eliminates downtime, acid exposure as well as the need for watering. Now with EE rating classification, we're able to expand and offer this advanced technology into additional class III truck applications."
NexSys batteries are manufactured with Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology, using only the highest purity lead in the positive and negative plates and a very high purity sulfuric acid to minimise the potential risk of corrosion and sulfation common to conventional lead acid batteries.
UL Standards are used to assess products, test components and evaluate environmentally sustainable products, renewable energies, food and water products, recycling systems and other technologies.
