Doosan has launched its latest reach truck, the BR-7 at this month's LogiMat exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany. The event gave visitors the chance to try out the new reach truck for themselves as well as the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in products and services that
Doosan have planned for the rest of 2012.
With numerous safety features, ergonomic controls and the highest level of operator comfort, the sophisticated
new Doosan BR-7 aims to set the standard for affordable reach truck design. Combine this with the latest technology AC electronic system, including 360- and 180-degree steering, height and weight indicators and some of the best performance statistics against its competitors, and the BR-7 truck is a genuine proposition for every warehouse.

Doosan overseas marketing team leader, Young Lee, described the new reach truck as a crucial step and a great addition to Doosan's growing product range.

Said Young Lee: "The response has been fantastic. Visitors have been impressed with the development that has gone into making this a truly 'Doosan' product. Our counterbalance range remains the core of our portfolio, but this series adds a great string to our bow."
Manufactured at Doosan's production facility in Korea, the new BR-7 brings in such features as transitional lifting system designed for smooth lifting and lowering operations.
The decision to develop the new reach truck for the European market is the latest sign of Doosan's intention to shift to an even stronger market presence in both national and fleet deals where warehousing equipment plays a more significant role.
Warehousing of the type seen across Europe is relatively rare in countries such as Doosan's home market of Korea. Since the acquisition of German warehousing specialists ATL in 2008, the company has gained an in-depth understanding into the types of qualities which make reach trucks the cornerstone of European logistics operations.
As a result, features such as PIN code access via the graphical user interface, soft-stop mast function, simultaneous hydraulic controls and a number of adjustable operator parameters, make the BR-7 series an attractive proposition.
"It's certainly pushed us forward in terms of seeing us as a serious contender in the market," says Young Lee. "Of course, we won't stop here. When it comes to developing new product, the feedback we get from taking part in these exhibitions also provides us with a good indication that we are on the right lines."
Recent additions to the warehouse range, including a low level order picker, pedestrian and ride on powered pallet trucks and stackers, have already proved popular amongst existing Doosan customers and dealers.
Said Young Lee: "We have been very fortunate to have a product range that has continued to strike the right balance between value, reliability and productivity. At the same time a number of major fleet operators have turned to us because we have a superb support infrastructure and a growing UK presence."
"It's going to be a challenging year for every industry, and customers are placing greater emphasis on cost and value. Warehousing managers need to focus now more than ever on selecting the right application for their business, whilst managing their cost effectively. We have demonstrated our position as a credible alternative to the older, more traditional brands offering up a value product without sacrificing on quality."
