To make a mistake is human - to get a second chance is BodyGuard
Every day workers face risk in their workplace. Despite the many safety processes used today, people are still being hit my moving machinery. Driver's are often not aware of the potential dangers lurking in the "blind spots" around their vehicle. Even the highest visibility clothing does not help if the person cannot be seen in the first place.Detection of person approaching forklift | When the driver is not aware of a person in the path of a moving vehicle there is little or no chance of avoiding a collision. Orbit's BodyGuard system reduces the risk of hitting people in these blind spots and other low visibility situations. The system helps lower the risk of collision between vehicles and people by alerting the driver when somebody is detected too close. The alert gives the driver a chance to stop in time to avoid an incident. The person on the ground gets a second chance that would not have existed if the driver had not been alerted by the BodyGuard system. |

BodyGuard can improve your organisation's bottom line. Even non-injury collisions can cost a company hundreds of thousands of dollars for every day that a vehicle is out of service while being repaired and investigations are undertaken. Reducing the likelihood of collision provides real savings.
BodyGuard - A second chance for LifeBodyGuard has a programmable detection zone. Typically a detection zone is set up at the rear of a vehicle where visibility can be obstructed and the risk of collision is higher. The BodyGuard proximity detection and warning system can also be configured for multiple safety zones on large vehicles and machinery.
The
BodyGuard proximity detection and warning system is NOT intended to provide a total solution but is intended to provide an additional layer of safety (an aid for driver awareness) as part of existing safety processes. BodyGuard is not intended or implied to replace duty of care and diligence of the vehicle operator/s and/or other staff to work in a safe manner. The circular detection patterns shown are for conceptual illustration purpose only and do not represent the actual detection zone shape or coverage. The zone shape and size depends on the vehicle and environment it is operating within. Due do the variety of vehicles, different environments and applications; the system cannot be assured to detect objects under all circumstances or regions around the vehicle.
Reversing vehicles create a high-risk situation. Poor visibility may affect the driver's ability to see a person behind them. The risk of collision can result in possible injury, damage, expensive downtime and Health and Safety investigation. With
BodyGuard fitted: An object detected in the proximitty detection zone will alert the driver to make driver aware of the risk and therefore help reduce the risk of a collusion. Improvement to your safety risk in turn can improve your bottom line. The BodyGuard proximity warning system provides an effective method of helping to protect people, vehicles, machinery and property from injury and damage. The system can give your staff a "second chance".

"Personal TAG") can be fitted to a hard-hat. The Personal TAG emits a special signal that identifies the type of object (pTAG) and a unique serial number. This enables any equipment, fitted with BodyGuard, to detect and identify any particular pTAG within the programmable proximity safety zone range and activate a visual/audible warning for the driver
of the vehicle.
BodyGuard Personal TAG UnitVehicles and Machinery (Such as Forklifts, Haul Road trucks, utility vehicles, cranes, moving machinery etc) can be fitted with a BodyGuard Sensor Unit. The BodyGuard Sensor Unit can detect proximity to other BodyGuard components (such as Personal pTAGS , Fixed and Mobile Sensors). In addition to detecting proximity to other BodyGuard-objects, the Sensor Unit transmits a specially coded signal that contains the TYPE of vehicle or equipment and its unique serial number.
The
Sensor Units can be programmed for proximity safety zone ranges from around 1m to over 100m.Every BodyGuard Unit can be programmed for different proximity safety zone ranges for any objects detected. For example: A Forklift unit may activate a proximity warning for a detected Personal TAG unit at say around 8m but have the range set for ar Forklift unit around 12m.
The Sensor Units have 2 Outputs that can be used to stop a vehicle, slow a vehicle or give external indication to a vehicle management computer or similar.
