CMA CGM has ordered seven hybrid Konecranes Noell rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes for its container terminal at the Port of Kaohsiung in Taiwan.
The new RTGs will be commissioned in the third quarter of 2024, with handover scheduled in the fourth quarter.
Konecranes port solutions regional sales director Jerry Fann says: “We have a proven track record providing similar equipment to other CMA CGM container terminals.
“With their operations extending around the world, our cooperation with them continues to introduce our products into new countries.”
Marseille, France-based CMA CGM operates in more than 160 countries around the world providing shipping, logistics and air freight services.
Konecranes Noell hybrid RTGs run on battery for normal operations, with diesel added when more power is required. The equipment also collects braking energy to top up the battery charge.
