CFTS technical manager Chas Day |
Consolidated Fork Truck Services (CFTS), which runs the UK forklift industry's national accreditation scheme for Thorough Examination, is seeking an assistant technical manager who can meet its stringent criteria.
The new post is the result of CFTS's rapidly growing membership base and activity in the 10 years since its 2002 launch. Over 400 companies have been accredited to deliver CFTS Thorough Examinations, and the number has continued rising despite the recession.
CFTS chairman Simon Emery says the organisation is looking for a "very special person". "As well as having the necessary qualifications, knowledge and experience to be able to advise with authority on this highly complex subject, we need someone who can relate well to company staff at every level. Our checklist for the successful candidate will be as comprehensive as the CFTS code of practice."
Working with CFTS technical manager Chas Day, the duties of the successful applicant will include assessing accredited companies and providing specialist advice on all matters relating to Thorough Examination of forklifts.
The assistant technical manager will be responsible for the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland.
The CFTS scheme was developed specifically for forklifts by the industry's leading bodies, the British Industrial Truck Association and the Fork Lift Truck Association, working closely with the Health & Safety Executive.
