Following CeMAT 2008 in Hannover, organiser Deutsche Messe is hoping to repeat its success with two upcoming shows in Bangalore and Shanghai.

Two months after the Beijing Olympics, 380 intralogistics exhibitors will occupy around 10,000m² (107,639sqft) of exhibition space at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 27-30 October at CeMAT Asia 2008.

Exhibitors will display industrial trucks, cranes and lifting platforms, conveyor systems, warehousing systems, loading equipment and software, and materials handling accessories.

This year's CeMAT Asia 2008 will introduce two special displays, the "Automated Guided Vehicles Pavilion" showcasing driverless transport systems and the "Logistics System Integration Area", for system providers, project planners and IT enterprises.

From 10-13 December, CeMAT India 2008 will be staged at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, running concurrently with other trade shows like Industrial Automation India and MDA India, while Deustche Messe is partnering with its subsidiary Hannover Fairs India to organise the Energy India show.

"Fresh Logistics" and "Contract Logistics" are two new topics that have been added to the show. The establishment of unbroken cold chains is considered a lucrative market in India because the country lacks the infrastructure to cope with perishable goods. India's deficient infrastructure has also impacted on logistics costs resulting in corporate logistics being outsourced to third-party providers.

According to the German Office for Foreign Trade, the Indian logistics market is experiencing 20-30% growth rates and by 2015 the market is expected to reach a total sales volume of EUR140 billion (USD222 billion).

Around 180 exhibitors are expected to participate in the show, up from the inaugural CeMAT India 2007 total exhibitor number of 150.

Words of support …

These releases in Forkliftaction are a nice experience for SNDC... We got seven inquiries coming from Canada, USA, Mexico, Israel and Australia (five from retailers, two from machines manufacturers) and we are still in contact with them. I can state that's a success story!
