Cascade reports increases in sales, profits News Story - 15 Dec 2011 ( #544 ) - Fairview, OR, United States 1 min read Forklift attachments maker Cascade Corp says net sales climbed 25% and foreign currency changes added 4% for the third quarter ended 31 October.Cascade logged sales of USD138.0 million versus the comparable 2010 quarter's USD107.4 million excluding the impact of changes in foreign currency exchange rates. Profit was up 123% to USD19.6 million from USD8.8 million in the 2010 quarter."We expect lift truck demand to moderate and business levels to be impacted by regular holiday shutdowns during the fourth quarter (ending 31 January). Given the current economic uncertainty in Europe, we are unable to predict how this may affect our future financial performance," says a company statement.For the comparable quarters by region, Cascade sales to the Americas increased 37%, Europe gained 20%, Asia Pacific was up 23% and China climbed 18%.Cascade's sales for the nine months ended 31 October were USD409.8 million - up from USD299.5 million last year.Fairview-based publicly traded Cascade manufactures materials handling load-engagement devices, attachments, forks and accessories that are used primarily on forklifts.
