Briggs Equipment US has agreed to purchase LLT Inc's distributorship of large-capacity forklifts from Taylor Machine Works Inc. Terms were not disclosed.
The Houston, Texas office of Briggs Equipment entered into asset purchase and non-competition agreements with LLT in an effort to expand Briggs' operations within the US high-capacity forklift market.
LLT is terminating its dealer arrangement for new forklifts and parts with Taylor of Louisville, Mississippi. LLT became a Taylor distributor in 2007.
LLT, which has 10 employees, will continue with sales of used Taylor, Hyster and Eaves forklifts, parts and some rentals in its geographic market serving Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico. Clinton Wood is LLT owner and president, and John Kothmann is co-owner and vice president.
LLT plans to retain its "taylorlift.com" website and email address.
