UN Forklift opens robot welding production line

Zhejiang, China

Zhejiang UN Forklift (UN Forklift) says the investment into its new forklift mast and carriage welding robot production line in Zhejiang, is a step forward towards process optimisation and intelligent manufacturing.

The automated production line reduces process time and ensures consistent welds, UN Forklift states.

“The commissioning of this intelligent production line will further enhance the company’s self-manufacturing capability and stability in core components such as masts and carriages,” the company continues.

“It also lays a solid foundation for future product development and mass production.”

Alabama Port Authority has ordered two Konecranes rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes for its new intermodal facility in Montgomery, Alabama.

Konecranes says the order was booked in Q3 2025 and delivery has been scheduled for Q4 2026.

The order follows the increase in container volumes at Alabama’s Port of Mobile which increased from 502,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2021 to more than 563,000 TEUs in 2023, with more growth expected in the future leading to the development of the Montgomery Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF).

This is where the new RTGs will be deployed.

“The new cranes will set the standard for efficiency and handling capacity as we launch the intermodal terminal and scale up operations,” says Doug Otto, interim director and CEO of the Alabama Port Authority.
