Safety Accreditation for GNB

John Kinge, technical director of safecontractor, says: "Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that GNB has done." The safecontractor is a third-party accreditation scheme which recognises standards in health and safety management among UK contractors.
Forklift makers among top 75
Greenville, NC, United StatesHyster Company and Yale Materials Handling Corp have been selected by Inbound Logistics as two of 75 "Green Supply Chain Partners leading the way in sustainability and logistics".
The editors of Inbound Logistics chose the 75 supply chain partners after considering the companies' participation in public-private partnerships, corporate sustainability initiatives and collaborative customer-driven projects.
Hyster says it engineers energy-efficient alternatives to predominantly diesel-operated applications. The company has rolled out the new Hyster J80-100XN forklift series, an electric alternative for traditional ICE applications including lumber, stevedoring, heavy manufacturing and paper. Yale, meanwhile, provides energy-efficient electric forklifts and ICE trucks that can operate on alternative fuel sources. Starting from the design stage, Yale says, its forklifts are built with recyclability in mind.
