Cargotec will book four machines in its third quarter order intakeBrazilian equipment hire company Brasmaq Portuaria has ordered 21 Kalmar Essential reachstackers as it expands its fleet, which was already the country’s largest.
Kalmar says four machines will be booked in parent company Cargotec’s third quarter order intake, with a further 17 machines booked in the fourth quarter.
The first batch of four reachstackers will be delivered by the end of this year, with the second batch of 17 scheduled for delivery during the first quarter of next year.
Brasmaq specialises in leasing reachstackers and large forklifts and providing maintenance, replacement parts and 24-hour technical assistance.
The company owns the largest reachstacker fleet in South America, serving operators in the ports, container terminals and other industries. Its fleet currently includes more than 80 Kalmar machines including reachstackers, empty container handlers and forklift trucks.
“The Brazilian market has shown strong growth in recent months,” says Kalmar Brazil sales executive Elton Lima.
“Setting up close local partnerships with leading local operators helps to address the growing demand from port operators for new machines, parts, service and technical support.
“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Brasmaq with these new orders, which will bring the total number of Kalmar machines in their fleet to 93.”
