Bobcat has spent USD3.26 million renovating its North American materials handling sales, service, marketing, parts and logistics headquarters in Buford, Georgia, following its move into the sector earlier this year.
The 200,000 sqft. (18,580 sqm) facility houses a state-of-the-art parts operation which supplies more than 30,000 line items. The materials handling product line includes 179 separate models with a range of diesel, gas, liquid propane gas and electric forklifts, with capacities from 3,000 lb. (1,360 kg) to 55,000 lb. (24,950 kg).
Bobcat’s move into materials handling is the result of a global strategic shift for the company with its sister brand Doosan Industrial Vehicle in February, rebranding as Bobcat to sell its range of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment.
Bobcat vice president of materials handling products Jarrod Steck says: “Our Buford team has grown by 40% in the last year and is still growing. Bobcat’s investment in both people and facility illustrate our level of commitment to growing Bobcat’s presence in this important market.”
More than 180 employees work at the Buford location – a significant increase since the rebranding in 2022.
