Ballard Power Systems has confirmed that its fuel cell stacks will be used by Daimler to power materials handling equipment at its Vance, Alabama manufacturing facility.
Ballard's technology is integrated into the Infintium Hydrogen Power Cell system deployed by Daimler to power Hyster E50/55/65XNs forklifts andHyster T7ZAC automated tow tractors.
Thomas Lynch, CEO of Infintium, claims his company's cells "underwent thousands of operational testing hours".
"We now have the data to prove that our smart design exceeded Mercedes' desires to achieve greater reliability and higher fuel efficiency than previous fuel cell designs."
