Equipment Depot has acquired two dealerships, Clarklift of Fort Worth and Powr-Lift of Dallas, to become one of the largest materials handling companies in Texas.
Equipment Depot now has more than 450 employees, including 240 service technicians, seven facilities, and annual revenue of more than USD100 million. The acquisition price was not released.
Former owners Vern Bailey (Clarklift) and Mel Robinson (Powr-Lift) would continue to manage the acquired companies, an Equipment Depot statement said.
Clarklift, founded in 1979, was dealing in Clark, Mitsubishi and Linde forklifts, and Mustang skid-steers. Powr-Lift represented Clark, Drexel and Linde forklifts.
"These acquisitions extend our reach in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, one of the top forklift markets in the USA," said Equipment Depot president Don Moes. "We will now have more than 10,000 forklifts under routine service contracts and 875 forklifts in our short-term rental fleets."
Equipment Depot, founded in 1975 as Central Texas Clarklift, is a dealer for Caterpillar, Clark, Daewoo, Drexel, Linde and Mitsubishi forklifts, and Mobile pallet jacks.
