São Paulo, October 9, 2012 -
The 2012 MOVIMAT - 27th Logistics Expo, the most respected and traditional industry fair in Latin America held from October 2 - 4 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo (SP), was also the most comprehensive event in its history. In 24 thousand m², 200 exhibitors from the packaging, transfer, distribution, transportation and IT industries presented their newest products and services in logistics for a highly qualified audience. MOVIMAT 2012 saw visitation up 18.7% over the previous year to 21,850 professionals from 19 countries.

A reflection of MOVIMAT's recognition as the most comprehensive expo in the sector, for almost 30 years it has built relationships and business throughout the logistics chain, with visitor quality a highlight of this edition. 76% of visitors were directly involved in purchasing and 58% were CEOs, Directors, Managers and Supervisors.

"The MOVIMAT results reflect the current Brazilian logistics sector, which is an increasingly strategic tool for traditional industries and essential for new markets like e-commerce. Companies are increasingly more professionalized and challenges arise with the complexity of Brazil's infrastructure and national economic growth," says Hércules Ricco, event director.

In addition to record visitation and area, in its most comprehensive edition MOVIMAT saw the participation of new logistics segments, including auto makers Ford, Kia and Mercedes Benz, which participated in the event to present their Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV).

Exhibit area dedicated to the fork lift test drive saw ample engagement, where visitors could test the new products presented by participating manufacturers to evaluate equipment efficiency and appropriateness to their needs, with 152 test drives with the various equipment on location.

MOVIMAT was acquired this year by Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado and as of this edition is now positioned on the world event calendar that serves more than 40 economic sectors with 500 events in 39 countries. The new features of MOVIMAT could be seen on the expo's website or Facebook page, which has 10 thousand fans. The event publicity campaign had an estimated reach of 4 million people.

XVI National Logistics Conference
Held for the first time together with MOVIMAT, the XVI National Logistics Conference was themed "Service Level and Competitive Intelligence: The Role of Logistics in Achieving Customer Satisfaction." The conference featured a total of 50 sessions including talks and panels, with participation of about 600 industry professionals.

In launching the 2013 edition of MOVIMAT, scheduled for September 17 - 19, 2013, Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado announced a new industry fair for the same period. The new event is Brazil Transportation & Logistics, in conjunction with the International Transportation and Logistics Week (SITL), a Paris event organized by Reed Exhibitions in France and recognized as one of the world's largest events in the sector.

MOVIMAT 2013
For 2013, MOVIMAT will be held within the context of the International Transportation and Logistics Week (STIL), held in Paris, France and considered one of the world's most important logistics and transportation events, also organized by the Reed Exhibitions group. Under this model, MOVIMAT 2013 will be held in parallel with Transportation & Logistics, an event created to meet the needs of the growing Latin American market.
