Description
GemOne is looking for a true Electromechanical Technician to join our R&D team within our broader Products organization. To support that, we also invest heavily in the software engineering that comes with it. You will be a key player in this team and use your machine knowledge to improve our products so we can offer unique machine insights to our customers.
Your key responsibilities will be:
From the get-go, you will be the main point of contact for everything related to our CAN engineering. Of course you will be able to learn from seasoned engineers with expert knowledge on the matter on how to tackle the challenges it provides, however from the moment you feel comfortable, it'll be you driving the pace in close collaboration with the R&D engineers in the team.
You will build up in-depth machine knowledge, and utilize that knowledge to understand the workings of the machine engine and what the CAN data means when it is being communicated by the machine
You will visit clients throughout Belgium and Europe to get your hands on their actual machines and support your R&D colleagues to manipulate the machine so they can capture the right data. This includes operating machines such as forklifts, reach trucks, scissor lifts,...
You will work together with the R&D and Operations teams in order to, among others, schedule trips, lock in time with the customer for the right set of machines, and of course to share your findings with your colleagues in the R&D team so that they can engineer the correct protocols for your revelations.
From your experience with industrial machinery you will help to create the right schematics so that the team can develop the relevant wiring harnesses for it.

2-4 years of experience
You have had a technical education (A2/A3 car mechanics, electronics, car technology, electromechanics,...) or similar through experience.

Fluent in English -mastering another language such as Dutch, French, German,... is a plus.
Willingness to travel 50% of the time, both within Belgium as throughout Europe.
