Yale os030ECN24

I have a Yale Model #os030ECN24 Serial # C801N0203TE089Y This unit keeps popping up a height err and the foks are down unit doesnt move. Was setting a foot switch code. The foot switch was replaced and have same problem. The sister truck to this one has same code but creeps. Any help would be appreciated.

ok...forklift is now operational. after getting advice to check voltage at J1 Pn6 on the Curtis 1310 master controller we then checked both slack chain switches again. they both check out ok. however, one had open wire. apparently these units have issues with the wiring as was mentioned beforehand in a previous post. thanks everyone for your help.

out of all these posts nobody has mentioned checking the battery voltage, this should be one of the first things to check when errors start popping up. These trucks are VERY voltage sensitive and a faulty or low battery can make one code out various codes.

now with that said, i know these trucks had problems with the height encoder from day one, first they updated the encoder itself and then there were problems with the wiring harness @ the encoder, this was updated also. I would verify that the problem with this next. If you find wiring issues repair as needed or if no problems found in the wiring? replace the encoder.

as for the sister truck stuck in creep mode?
do as was suggested, check the 24" sensor at the base of the mast and make sure it is operational, it has an ORANGE light on it and when platform is lowered it should be turned on. If you see no light check it by putting something metallic in front of the switch as it is magnetic and should turn on. If you get no light still? then you have either bad wiring, connection or just a bad sensor. Repair as needed according to what you find.
In my experiences with these you may find it is just an adjustment but if you have any doubts about the validity of the sensors operation replace it.

hello working on same model truck..serial # C801...unit powers on..shows ****, battery voltage, Ver 1.7, hours, then Slack Chn message on display. horn works. lift works. no travel and cannot lower. fwd/rev contactors do not close. connected 1311 handset to curtis 1243 traction controller and it works. i can see all the menus and settings etc on the Handset screen...accel POT ok...fwd input OK...rev input OK. i then connected 1311 handset to 1310-5201 master controller and shows "no communication error". this master controller was just repaired by FSIP.

thanks,
jay

The sister truck I believe has a problem with the accel pot. Can be checked through the dash also. Also recalibrated( which is what I think is needed) May need to replace the pot. If you do... Set the pot to center, lock it down, go into dash and recalibrate. Can explain how if your not sure... May need to check the encoders on this truck too though. These trucks are extremely easy to troubleshoot if you have the proper know how. Let me know if you need further help.

A few things can cause this. The velocity fuse in the manifold at bottom of mast but I don't think this is your problem because you didn't mention the cab lowering slowly. The truck has to see a steady pulse at predetermined intervals, if not then it will give the code. The other will be the encoders. The truck takes a snapshot of the total currents of the encoders when the truck is first setup. Everytime the truck is turned on from this point it compares it to the initial current and it has to be within (i believe) 80%. If not it shuts down the travel and gives this code. The other is the signal wires are damaged and truck thinks it is somewhere it is not. Which kinda is the same as the first but due to wiring not hydraulics. Most likely one of your encoders are bad. You can go into the diagnostics and programming in the dash and check the encoders without having a meter. When you find the problem encoder and get it replaced, you need to do a defaults in the dash to have the truck read the new encoder currents. Should take care of your problem. If you are able to lift the truck above 30 inches then turn the truck off then back on (assuming you already checked what Garland m said about prox switch.) Lower the truck all the way down. Will reset truck if your encoders are ok. Can get a little more in detail if needed... Just let me know.

Dale, first check the proximity switch at the bottom of the mast. With the mast lowered the switch should show a green light. When the mast raises and the metal bar extends beyond the switch the light should go out. No light switch is bad. Also check the height encoder at the top of the mast. Conventional means can be used to diagnose the encoders as follows. Using a voltmeter, determine if 5 volts and battery negative are going to each encoder by back-probing the connector. If good, then connect to one output channel and battery negative, and rotate the encoder very slowly to see if the input goes on/off/on (0 then 5 volts) when the encoder is rotated slowly. Check the other bit also. If they are both outputting, the encoder is OK. Let me know if you need additional help, e-mail in my profile.

Hi Dale

Sounds like the sister truck is in reduced speed due to a lift height switch failure. Probably thinks the forks are raised and limiting the speed into creep mode.

The one thats not moving could be popping up that error but might not be moving due to foot pedal problem, as you state you have replaced the foot pedal switch. it might be you have 2 faults on this one related to throttle the other with height sensor.

Does this truck use the curtis controller?
