Discussion:
won't stay running

Hello, I have an old Clark gas fork lift and I don't know the model but I think the serial # is 4024 cl-2-pc. It starts hard when it does start it idles good, it spits and sputters when you give it gas and then runs rough. I have put new plugs and wires in. I was wondering if there is a carb adj. to make of any other comments to help make it run better.

When you say gas- do you mean gasoline? If you pull the choke on slightly, does it run better? How far will the ignition spark jump & what's it's color?

Customers love technology- until they have to pay to fix it!
Also might do a cylinder leak test.

Might take wd40 and check for vacumn leaks, and how much did it run before it backfired? could have water in the gas. where are you getting your gas and how is it transported to the truck,I have seen where people take an old can and get gas and the can over a period of time gets contaminated.
