Through my experiences since this trucks release I have found that this problem will only be the vfc or odi card. Vfc is much cheaper and 9 tines out of 10 will be the problem. The power card has no bearing on communication problems typically power card will be 20 series codes.
If you have another truck you can swap vfc cards primary memory is held in the odi and will overwrite vfc memory every key cycle.

Fact of the week
Every year for Thanksgiving, the President of the United States is given a live domestic turkey by the National Turkey Federation (NTF). While these turkeys used to be slaughtered and eaten, during the presidency of George H. W. Bush it became standard practice for the president to issue a ceremonial "pardon" to the turkey.
