Raymond 10F40L:
Wiring print

I just came back from a new customer. He has raymond pallet jack Md # 10F40L, this looks like it came of of Noah's Ark.the capacity tag said that it is 24 volts. It has two sets of six volt (golf cart type batteries). The way that it is wired is two six volts in series, but then the two sets are in parrellel to the truck. Someone just replaced the batteries. I need to know if this is 12 volt or 24 volt system. I think that the batteries should be 12 volts, then if would be correct. He keeps telling me that the six volt batteries are what it always had. One other thing is that his charger is 24 volts, but has a jumper to plug into both batteries. The jumper is connected in parrallel. This just does not look right to me. Any help would be apreciated. Ralph

Tom, Thanks for the info. The problem with this truck is that it looks like the 2 sets of six volt batteries that are in series, are hooked in parrallel to the truck. All I can get is 12 volts to any contact coil. There is no voltage value on the coils, ect. At this point the customer has a 12 volt charger, from another truck, and I have instructed him to charge up one half of his batteries at a time. Thanks, Ralph.

Ralph , If charger is 24 volts , batts. need to be hooked as follows. Two 6 volts each side in series to get 12 volts , then both sides in series to get 24 volts. I beleive these trucks were 12 volt , They use a relay that switches 12 volt use from side to side, strange but true. Truck voltage does not matter as long as we get all batts charged. I can locate more info if needed , Tom

Fact of the week
Bluetooth is named after the 10th-century Viking king, Harald Bluetooth, who united warring tribes in Denmark and Norway. In 1997, Jim Kardach from Intel gave the name to the technology because of its ability to unite different communication protocols, just as Harald united various tribes.
