You do not need anything to clear the 01 code. Simply sit in the seat. The 99 code requires software access to clear.

Code 01 is no seat switch input. Code099 is a maintenance reminder. Code 01 you should not be able to move. Code 099 is just a warning code.

I am having trouble with my hyster j40xmt, when i turn all the way to the left, it shuts off. I habe two codes on the dash that read -01 and -099, it's also burning up contacts, it also has a light on the dash that has a tire with an arrow, any ideas what it could be?

The 2 in front of the code indicates the problem is in the right hand drive circuit. Code 66 is field current exceeds current limit. You need to check the two field cables for shorts to frame and shorts to case. Also check for shorted fields in motor.
