Discussion:
Water Jacket

I have a 1973 Clark C500-25 Ser#235 437-2282. It's been running fine enough for my intermittent use over past 5 years. Originally it was gasoline then professionally converted to lpgas, then I bought it used. In May 2021 the anti freeze leaked out of a horizontal crack in the old water jacket. I ordered a new one from and made by Nash Fuel, (J&S J AND S WATER JACKET RE23973 810-5 23973 45° 11A28 REGULATOR 12V) coming with all new fittings and new safety shut off valve.
After I reattach this to the manifold Can I start it up without blowing it up or are there other things I need to prep/bleed/etc do first? Any ideas what may have caused it to crack - so I can look into those parts also?
Thanks,
Arnold

I just received the shiny new water jacket and valves. Haven't installed it yet. Still wondering if I need to prime or bleed something first before starting the engine.
