Discussion:
Using about a tank of propane per day. No propane smell

I have a Mitsubishi Model# FG35N. Serial# AF82D01601. Hours: 1945
It is going through about a tank of propane per day. And as you can tell from the hours it doesn't get used all day everyday like most lifts. There is no propane smell and I just sprayed down the whole system from the tank coupler to the carb and haven't found any leaks. And it is running normal, no misfires or hesitations. I'm an automotive mechanic by trade, forklifts are a little foreign to me so feel free to dumb it down for me, LOL!!!

If it were leaking as bad as you say you should smell propane gas if it is a leak that is constant whether running or not. Especially if not.
If it is just burning too much while running you would smell a very rich exhaust smell, possibly strong enough to burn your eyes or sinuses.
If it does this with different tanks it has to be somewhere on the truck fuel system.
At this point I think I would just spray down everything, hoses, fittings, vaporizer, filter, etc.

Just the fitting and valve where the coupler goes in. Its done this with multiple tanks. We just swap out when one is empty.

did you spray down the fittings "on" the tank? ALL of them? Not just the coupler, with soapy water?

Usually for us a tank lasts about a week. It only get used when the heavy lifting has to be done

After I typed out the original post I pulled the spark plugs and checked the gap, they were off so I re-gapped them then it ran rough so I just installed new plugs and it now runs smooth. As far as the exhaust it did smell rich. So I will be more than likely calling in the experts to do the mixer adjustment.
Thank you for the quick response.

most lifts will run a complete shift (about 8hrs on a single tank)
if it is using more than that then:

what does the exhaust smell like while it's running? does it smell rich? burn your eyes etc?
if so it may need a tune up (full tune up with carb/mixer adjustment with gas analyser.
