Crown RC5500:
Unit does crab walk

Hi guys.
So I've had this unit just replace the battery and coded a 318. Replaced steering pot, nothing. Checked connectors from acc3, nothing. Replaced acc3 and downloaded software. Unit now turns steering, but its crab walking going either direction. Intermittent petting go by force, but nothing. Took off brakes, same. Swapped steering encoder from stash and checked if lines were crossed, nothing. Any ideas?

If this symptom started after replacing the Access 3, double check you have the U,V,W cables in the correct locations, and going to the correct motor.
Logically it can only be an error in wiring or a faulty component.

Assuming you calibrated the steer pots after installing?

Could you define crab walking? Is the front of the unit sliding in the opposite direction of travel?

Not 100% sure what you mean by crab walking but taking a guess, the steering pot may be in backwards. The drive motors will ramp down and ramp up speeds when turning, it is possible you might be turning one way and the truck things you are turning the other way making the drive tires spin at the wrong speeds for that turn.
