yale gdp090lg transmission starts slipping after 30 minutes of use. seems to have a short also blows the diode on 2nd speed valve harness

I would suspect a short to ground in the harness due to the age. Since it is running for thirty minutes before slipping, bad fluid, seal or Oring. The wire harness if I remember correctly is all orange wires. Does the diode fail when key is first turned on or when the transmission starts slipping?
