I am trying to troubleshoot our forklift. We are having problems starting when the control lever is in neutral. It must be in neutral to start the machine, but we often have to wiggle the control level to engage the starter. The problem is getting worse and we are unable to identify the source of the issue.
Where is the killswitch for the ignition located? There is no wiring coming out of the control level, it just goes straight in to the transmission. What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tips. It starts without a problem when I bypass the neutral safety switch. I ordered a new one, though it was just replaced 9 months ago.
The neutral start switch is screwed in to the top of the trans. It has 2 wires comimg out of it. That won't let it start if it's in gear.
the neutral safety switch is screwed into the valve body on top of the transmission. find the wires, unplug them from the switch and plug them into each other and the unit should start. do not leave the unit in this state as it will start in gear. this is only a diagnostic tool. if the back up alarm stays on when you do thie wire jump reconnect that switch and find the other one, then proceed as per previous instruction.
