Retiring the 2 Toyotas

My customer is finally trading in 2 of their Toyotas. A 7FGCSU15 and a 7FGCU25. The little one has 27,000 hours. The 25 has a lot less but it lived a rough life with a clamp attachment. They are keeping a 7FGCU15 that has 26,000 hours. I've been the tech on these machines since they were new in 2004. I am very impressed with the way these machines have held up. The motors and transmissions are still going strong. I have never done any brake, mast, or fuel system repairs to these units. The major things that have failed or wore out are radiators, hydraulic pumps, starters, hoses, head gaskets, forks, chains, and tires. The one thing that would have saved the head gaskets would have been a engine overheat auto shut down but they didn't have them. They will be getting 3 new Yales. For what it's worth, 27,000 hours X say 55mph = 1,485,000 miles.

I suggested they buy Toyotas again but it was only price that they looked at. I also think there may be some friction between them and the dealer. They really don't have any concept what 27000 hours of operation is.
These machines were logging 100 hours per week so I did oil changes every 400 hours. The longest down time was overnight, a few times, during the 5 1/2 years off use. And, I think the only time they cooled down was Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. I don't know how you could do better than that. It sure is a far cry from the Schreck I used to have to keep running. That thing got to the point of almost breaking in half so I told the customer to throw it out.

at 70 miles to one hour of operation the service interval would be 42hrs=3000 miles to 64hrs= 4500 miles.
at 30 the service intervals would be 100hrs=3000 miles to 150hrs=4500 miles.
toyota uses 25 miles to one hour and that makes the service interval more realistic or at least at a level that doesn't scare the **** out of the customer.
i know as a toyota guy that my view is a little biased but i have seen some trucks that have been in 24 hour heavy service with over 30,000 hours and still going like that **** pink bunny. i am sure some other brands can do as well.

Why would they have gone w/ Yale if they gt 26k hours?? I'm sure the Yale was cheaper but like most companies today they are only looking at the initial purchase price.

I also know of 30 miles to every hour.

Thats awesome on hours but we use 30 miles to every hr.Dont know where it came from.Was told something about idel time but I forgot.Just thought Id chime in.My van runs 67 to 70mph at 2500 rpm.So think what 70 would be.
