What happen to Cat TC120D?

O.K this story might be long!! grab a beer and chips well here we go...My friend bought Cat TC120D at the auctions he said it was a great buy!?until it doesn't work.He called me to look at the unit maybe a big mistake for me.He show's me white thick goop from the trani stick. The oil stick is clean. He thinks it's the head?? Frost plug?? Rad?? Trani lines that run into the rad could of burst inside because he dosn't call me to do the maintenance. I figure there was more water in the rad and sat in the cold inside the building.Well the old Perkins is coming out?why i don't know?at this time my opion means $hit. Rad out- white goop-torque convert white goop-Engine block white goop.Any steps to bring back the old perkins to life!!!

Yikes recycling plants.......harsh environment. Some of the Perkins had removable piston sleeves. They would have hair line cracks in them and cause condensation in crankcase. Same for a cracked head and/or head gasket - compression test will determine that. As for the rad and trans......looks like a leak in the trans cooling side of the rad. I would flush rad and pressure test. The engine would build up pressure in the cooling system causing the coolant to leak into the trans cooling lines. Is the White goop coolant or pure water.

Looks like a fun one LOGIC, I had a customer with a big pneumatic Hyster ( Marina truck ) Driver swore they did not drive it in the lake. There was even water in the steer wheel hub caps. We flushed all systems with fresh fluids 2- 4 times. The unit still runs today.
Does your buddy know where the truck came from before the auction???. What type of environment does the unit work in now??? Wet, cold, extreme heat???
