Discussion:
Stabilising Casters

I run an old Shandong (chinese) forklift that's got all sorts of balance issues.

Anybody know of a way to install some stabilising casters like these?

I screwed up and posted the same reply twice so I thought I'd do this rant:
- guess this '44 model is messed up and needs to go watch the new TV series called "Gunsmoke". That Miss Kitty is really HOT. LOL

Hint: Enjoy your New Years celebration by watching the celebration in Australia it is fantastic (that is better word than" awesome" in my book). I watch it each year. It is on at 8 AM ET on New Years Eve in the US (Australia is 13 hours ahead of us Georgia blokes). It's a fireworks show on the Harbour Bridge in Sydney that is synced to music and no rowdy's in sight. Beats the heck out of watching the Apple or Peach drop at he same spot every year with a bunch of drunkards surrounding it - boring. Plus, have no hangover as my cocktail of choice is now a Virgin Screw Driver and bed time is way before midnight but there was a time.....

Modifications of equipment must be approved by the manufacturer and/or their authorized representative (i.e. dealer/distributor etc.) - OSHA/ANSI/SAE regulations. Don't do shade tree engineering modifications on your own.
Good Luck

it might help if you gave a model number?
is this a stacker type lift? or what?
you'll need to know the weight capacity to calculate which caster you want.
But on the other hand if your going to be fabricating this into the design and putting some aftermarket part on it i don't think i would want to be helping do this. The safety factor would stop me dead in my tracks if this is the case.
I would be checking to see if the manufacturer offered optional casters for this lift before i did anything to it.
