CAT EP30 joy-stick board

I have a Cat EP30 (E1EP38****, year 2000) with a blown Joy-stick board under the armrest. The board has obviously been replaced not to long ago (not by us). Is it common for this board to fail or should I look further what this problem caused?

Any hints where to look?
