Toyota 5FCG15:
Milky oil. FGC 15 3000 lb

Hello.

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction...

I have an older Toyota FGC 15. I don't know the year (probably early 80's or mid to late 70's).

It has a 5r 4 cylinder propane engine.

The problem is fluid in the oil after about 15-30 hours after each oil change. I had the head gasket changed last year as my mechanic assured me that that was the culprit. Apparently not.

I change the oil after it turns milky (usually around 20 hours of use)
. The problem keeps reappearing. I use 15/40 oil.

After the head gasket was replaced and I saw that the problem remained, I bought a new regulator and put it on- which did not solve the problem.

Recently, I sent the oil away for analysis. No antifreeze was present.

I would greatly appreciate any advice given. I am at a loss.

Thank you

Jim

Showing items 1 - 4 of 4 results.
Also, the breathable oil fill cap he fabricated has not worked apparently.

Thanks for the reply.
A friend of mine (a lot better mechanic than I) was thinking along those lines too I guess. He fabricated a oil fill cap that "breathes) by
Cutting out the cap and added a piece of porous material in hopes that the engine just needs to breathe more. There is no pvc.

And yes, normally the lift runs for short periods of time almost every day ( around 15 minutes or so)...

Thanks again

Hopefully Brewski is correct. I have an older version of your forklift. Had the old 5R head gasket fail a months ago, replaced it myself, all good on my side to date (knocking on wood).

Does this truck have a PCV valve? If it does you need to change it. Are you running the truck for short periods of time? Like 5 minutes and then shutting it off?
