Thanks for the grounding tip. I just was servicing and when finished, had no spark. I pressure washed engine 2 days ago and thought the had ruined some lectronics. Then I remembered I forgot to replace ground wire on air intake mount I removed to change hydraulic filters. Always look for basics. Thanks

i would take a close look at all the parts replaced and make sure they are OEM parts and not NAPA, echlin or genuine parts.

if they tried to substitute with something they had on their shelf there is a 99.9% chance they got it wrong and the truck will not run.

Has 2 wires on - side of coil,one goes to ign module the other goes down into a harness and I can't tell were it's going.This forklift is at a napa store and I was tryin to help them fix it. Don't know what type coil they replaced it with, I just seen it was new will find out. thanks for the help

I believe that has the optional CD65 ignition. It uses a special coil (pulse transformer) 5099838-00. From the simple wiring diagram that I have it looks to be a CDI type and the neg side of the coil is grounded. The positive side may get a pulse from the ign module when the capacitor in the module discharges. It's hard to tell looking at the diagram. I would check to see if the wire/wires going to the neg side of the coil are grounded. Also make sure the module is grounded. I can send the diagrams to you later today. All the parts were replaced by someone else, don't know if it's wired right.....coil is new, ign module new, pick up new. Don't know location ballist resistor but figured since I had 12v on + side of coil it was OK. Will try to look at today and see were coil wires are going.Was told it stopped running had know spark, ign module melted the gel out all over everything. After they replaced a lot of parts I was asked to look at it.

negative side of coil should be one of the wires that goes to the pickup in the distributor, and should be hot unless there is a better ground than your test-light (like through the contacts if it had contacts),
The other wires (that also go to the electric lock-off if it has one one might also go to the pickup in the distributor), should be on the same side of the coil as the wire from the key switch. the "trigger" of the coil is when the negative side of the coil opens, (breaks continuity to negative) and that is when you get your spark. if you don't get a spark when you take b- away from coil- and you have b+ on the other side of the coil, you have a bad coil (maybe in this case, a bad resistor? or just the wires wrong on the coil?)

Distributor is turning.......module and pick up new. I'm like you neg side of coil is not triggering. Have 12v with key on or cranking Coil has 2 or 3 wires on the neg side of coil. Have not traced wires to see where they go yet. Maybe post later but I think one the wires goes to an electrical part that the propane line goes to mounted on the intake.Need a wiring diagram. Add more info later thanks.

sounds like the ignition module is not triggering.You should be getting a pulse on the negative side when cranking. Have you checked to make sure the distributor is rotating when you crank?

thanks wrenchman for your help....the serial # is n381347. Have not checked oil or coolent wi ll check today.I don't know how to check for codes. Unit does have 12 v on neg side of coil while cranking it's not swicthing hot to ground like I think it should.Do u have a wiring diagram for this unit ? thanks

what is the serial number of the unit? does it show any codes after cranking? are all the wires on the starter? by power on neg side do you mean battery volts? that don't sound correct to me.might want to check to be sure your wires are correct, also whats your oil leval like if oil pressure is to low at start up your unit wont start might want to check to see that there arnt any blown fuses and if this unit has the two large ones on top of valve cover check them as well make sure your oil pressure wire is connected if this unit has a sensor in the top of the radiator (rh side) check leval if its to low unit wont start or will start then shut down
