Discussion:
Toyota 8FGF15

The customer tells us the lights were left on over night so the next day the battery was flat. After jump starting the truck and subsiquently fitting a new battery the truck seems to be in limp mode with no error codes being displayed but engine management lights on.

As things have gone on the truck is now difficult to start.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your suggestion, I actually found the ECU fuse blown. Once I replaced it I had at least 6 error codes.

Cleared most but 2 keep coming back:

E06-3; Throttle motor power supply circuit open abnormality
E03-1; Intake pipe pressure sensor open abnormality

I have conducted all inspections with regard to E06-3 which point to a faulty ECU.

Regarding E03-1, the truck starts and runs only if the big breather/vacuum pipe which connects the engine top through the one way valve to the bottom of the carburettor is removed. If reconnected the engine stops instantly.

Can the ECU be blown by connecting the battery terminals on wrong when jump starting? Is this likely to be an ECU problem?

Hi,

Manual tells;

After disconnecting the battery terminal or removing the LPG fuse, the fuel system learning value will be cleared. This may cause temporary insufficient power output. Power output will return after being driven for a short while.

Regards

Bluetooth is named after the 10th-century Viking king, Harald Bluetooth, who united warring tribes in Denmark and Norway. In 1997, Jim Kardach from Intel gave the name to the technology because of its ability to unite different communication protocols, just as Harald united various tribes.
