Yale ERC050 code #41 SX controller, need parameters.

The dealer can not get me the OEM paarameters for this machine as his info for this serial # says the unit comes with an EV100. It's a GE SX controller and I know that some of the parameters can cause the overheating of this unit and shuting it down with code #41. Model # ERC050RGN48TE082 Ser# E108V18271A. Customer says the Enersys rep checked the battery and it was good BUT I don't like the fact that he is equalizing the charge every other day. I can smell the dust starting to get hot from the drive motor just before the code shows.

I checked the other possibilities as you stated Justin. Same "actuator" since machine was new 4 years ago. Started this problem after the dash display was replaced, which is why I suspected wrong parameters. I think these units have an issue with the displays not lasting? I see Flight Systems has an exchange program on these.

Thanks guys. The dealer came thru with the proper parameters. Function #8 was way out on the SP/SR controller which set the field current. Now everything works like new. Turns out someone had inadvertantly adjusted the parameters wrong and didn't double check them. Customer was ready to trade in his Yale as he could only use it for 2 hours. Good thing he had a cooler to park it in for a half hour a couple times a day.
Isn't an equalize charge a HIGH rate of charging to bring all the cell gravities up to the same? I have heard of both varients so which one is the truth? Also what is the difference between the GE SP/SR and the SX controllers if any?

you have to rule out the "steering wheel actuator" in cases like this

equalize is a slow charge (about 36 hours i believe) if he uses it everyday its probably not fully charged running the equalize every other day
running the battery with a crap charge can heat components
have him change his charging habits

equalize should be run once a month on a light duty shift
batteries should be used for a single 8 hour shift then charged 8 hours then allowed to cool an additional 8 hours
if he is running multiple shifts on a single charge or charging it several times a day (lunch breaks etc) that could cause this
also pushing (bulldozing) pallets along the ground can overheat the machine

you have to rule out the "steering wheel actuator" in cases like this
