Discussion:
oil pressure switch? ??

2005 with a 4.3 vortec on propane. Rebuilt top end now I have no spark. I have rechecked timing chain cam sensor crank sensor etc. Somebody told me there is an oil pressure safety switch apart from the stock 4.3 one by the distributor. Any truth to this? All help appreciated. Cheers

It's your oil... it needs a new motor.

i have come across this a couple of times on the XM. There is a second oil pressure switch on the left hand side of the engine Near the back of the unit. It's a bit of a sod to get to as the hydraulic control valve gets in the way a bit. Make sure the wires plugged into it as I have had come across them disconnected a couple of times. I t won't spark if it's not working or connected
