Discussion:
moisture in distributor cap

i am continually getting moisture under the cap on this truck. put on a new cap and still does it.
is there a seal on the distributor shaft that can let moisture come up from the crankcase?
it has gotten worse as the weather has gotten colder, am assuming because vapor condenses sooner at lower temps, especially by on the inside cap surface as it will be colder than the rest as it is "away" from the engine.
frustrating to have to wipe out the cap every hour or so of use. seems almost always bad first thing after it cools off.
ideas?
thanks

It's probably coming up the distributor shaft. And yes it PCV is not drawing properly, moisture will be out of control. You can use dielectric silicone at base of cap, but if moisture is from shaft, sealing the cap may make it worse.

Maybe the PCV valve is not working properly (plugged up)

The use of "hello" as a telephone greeting is attributed to Thomas Edison. He is said to have suggested it as a simpler alternative to other greetings, such as "Do I get you?" or "Are you there?".
