Discussion:
Cab Heaters

Having "issues" with our cab heaters.
Our new in spring of 2014 BT's RRE200CC have a new style heater, ie: variable speed fan and variable output heat capability, as opposed to the old 3 speed version.
Fuse F94 ( located in the heater assembly itself) doesn't really blow... one leg of the fuse overheats SO BAD it melts the fuse. Maybe it's a poorly made little fuse holder, and the "jaws" that grip the blade, don't grip aggressively enough, so... poor connection = heat = melted fuse ??
What I'm trying to say is the fuse isn't really blown , in the normal fashion it's melted ??
This fuse supplies current to one of the electric toaster grids that supply the heat, I believe.
Anybody got any thoughts on this, seen it before ??

Thanks FKABT and all.
I'm going to do just that.
Took some photos of the problem and will see what they come back with.

Best thing to do is contact your BT Toyota dealer & complain, the heaters shouldn't all be failing like this.

Ask them to contact BT tech services in Sweden & lodge a product quality complaint.

2802 hrs. on truck 1000 hrs. on heater module ( 1st one replaced on warranty cause someome drove a screw into one of the little modules inside, at factory )
All 3 of our trucks are doing this.
All 3 trucks off warranty because of usage/hours.
Air filter is clean/minty !
Another unit the fan quit working... I don't even know how to test fan ie: PWM controlled DC fan motor and PWM Module ??
They went away from the 3 speed simple units to these variable speed nightmares.

How many hours on the truck?

Has the air filter for the cabin heater even been replaced?

Is the truck still under warranty as it sounds like its less then a year old.
