I didn't think so but I was hoping there was an intermediate cable I have one that I use for Komatsu trucks that goes in between the obd connector and the I guess its a duetz style plug and the code are the comparable?
I only have these 2 gasoline machines so it's really not worth dumping a ton of cash on a scanner thanks for the response BTW

I have 2 later model FT I believe 05-08 possibly, they are 10,000lders
anyway they have 4.3 Gasoline engines what I am wondering is how I can run diag on these I have impco tier 4 but that doesn't do me any good I think. Can an OBD II be used on this if so where is the hook up?

pc service tool is what you are looking for and is password protected.pc service tool has been updated to 4.89 this is to make sure that the dealers can connect to the latest trucks. there is a error code book about 1600 pages.

I have had some luck with older programs running them in a virtual machine but the 16bit (early, like windows 3.0) and 8bit (run in DOS) programs have made me NUTS with wasting my limited time.

generally older software 'might' run on windows 10 , no guarantee because of OS compatibility.
if you run windows 64 bit there is alot less chance it will work as most software is designed to run on 32 bit systems.

But in my experience with getting older software to run on windows 10 you can just change the programs compatibility mode to run as an older version of windows by using the program troubleshooter that's built in the OS and change it to the last version of windows it was known to run on.

if you have the cables......OEM software is readily available
with a one word password activation....no time limit to renew
the password.....not that I would ever use such a sweet program
with my Laptop.....just choose the lower baud rate when setting
the com link....I mean that's what ive heard people do :)

Not that you are using the black market software but keep in mind that most OEM's will not cover warranty if they find out black market software has been used. Also if something were to happen, someone getting injured, and they find out that you are not using factory authorized software you will most likely be held liable.
From what I have seen posted on here it is a shot in the dark if you even get the program that you have ordered unless you get it from the OEM.

most of the "Proprietary" software is available off script for all or certainly most manufacturers equipment

bring back Carbs and venturi's.....and standard distributors with contacts :) :)

the one constant i've noticed with impco is every time they update their versions of diagnostic software they at some point change their canbus adapter and also their passcode for the "Tier" versions. The problem is they don't send out bulletins telling dealers this right away.
So with that said you better know what Version of firmware is on your truck before you hook up or you won't get anywhere. It simply will not connect.
I ran into this problem back when Cat had Tier 3 out and was in transition to the new Tier 4 trucks, it seems some information was not publically available and even some dealers were not updated unless they asked for it. The canbus adapter and software had to be obtained from Impco directly and after a couple of attempts and 2 different versions of the Tier 3 software we finally got onboard (connected) and could run diagnostics on the late Tier 3 truck i was working on. That version of software we had to use was not the same one you could get off their site.

And to add here... make sure the truck your working on actually uses the Impco software for diagnostics in the first place. If it does not have the spectrum engine or fuel system on the truck your wasting your time and most likely need the correct diagnostic software that Hyster provides for that truck.

Like what has been mentioned previously in alot of cases the handheld OBDII scanner might connect if the harness on the truck has that connector on it, cat had that option on their trucks and i'm sure other mfg's did too. I don't know for sure about the hyster trucks though.

But if you have the right info you most certainly can diagnose a truck without the laptop and even make the repairs, it's just in some cases you may need the laptop to reset codes for those that get hardset and can only be removed by the laptop program.
But then again disconnecting the battery for a period of time generally clears any codes stored in the ECU.

MUCH less expensive to get the local Hyster dealer to reset the password, and have them share the -maintenance-/-service- password with the owner of the truck, and then access everything through the dash.

How can I get e control display for 2006 s30ft with asian regulator and Econtrol ecu. I tried using the impco trie II display but can't get it to connect with the password that impco gives.

I think that $1000.00 USD will get you a few of the cords, but getting the PN for the cords is the trick...

expect to spend over a $1000 just for the cords, unless your a repair shop or have a large fleet its tough to justify the expense.

Well said Ed T- you are correct. There have only been a couple of issues where I had to have the dealer "read" the on board computer.

As an older tech I've had to really wrap my head around the new way the electronics handle the operation of newer lifts. If you take your time & use good old fashioned diagnostics skills (& get advise from this site) there's really not much you can't handle w/out the scan tools

there are numerous different tools to connect to different vendors emission control system, and in the forklift world, there are no real "aftermarket" scanners.
the manufacturers' dealer representatives have a mandate from the C.A.R.B to insure that only properly trained personal are allowed to access software that can adjust the emission system, and using [what I consider to be] an over abundance of caution they have interpreted that to mean 'if that dealer has not taught you, [and registered your information with the factory] then they do not have to sell you any method to connect to the truck.
All that said, in about 95% of all forklifts sold in the USA since 2004, about 98% of all diagnosis and repair can be done without any 'scan tool' or computer at all.
