RD3020-30-S Lifting problem. Any advice appreciated...

Hello,

We have a RD3020-30-S that has developed a problem today. I would appreciate any help or advice as to how to resolve it.

The machine has always had two lifting modes: When the joystick was moved up partially a first mode/motor/pump would activate and the forks would lift at a slower rate. When the joystick was moved up fully a second mode/motor/pump would activate and the forks would lift at a faster rate.

Today the machine was lifting in just one mode: When the joystick was moved up partially a relay could be heard clicking but the first mode/motor/pump would not activate and the forks would not lift. When the joystick was moved up fully a second mode/motor/pump would activate and the forks would lift but only at a slower rate.

How do I troubleshoot the missing first mode/motor/pump?

Thanks in advance for taking the time,
Robert

Thank You techno nz!

The motors indeed are individually fused, and it was a blown fuse.

With fuse replaced, the unit is now operational.

Thanks again!

The 'relay' you hear clicking when the first pump is supposed to run indicates that the microswitch on the handle is working correctly, it could be the the contact tips of the contactor (not really a relay) are worn out and not making or possibly the brushes in the first speed motor are worn out or seized in their holders. Take the panel off behind where the driver stands to check the contactors, take the large dash cover off to check the motors. Can't remember if the pump motors are individually fused, could be a fuse blown if so, also behind the aforementioned panel.
