Discussion:
Traction motors

Hello,
did anybody change the old traction motors with new NEO traction motors?
I'm looking for some feedback...

Regards

Thank you. I just saw your reply. I'll hit my local dealer up again. They never did get back with me the first time.

I posed the question of ''What is a NEO motor" to my nearest dealer. He didn't seem to know anything about them and was going to contact his district Service/Parts manager. That was on July 12...no response from him yet. Would you be able to provide a part number or additional information on the NEO motors? Thank you for your help and insight!

Hello,
I have succcessfully connected to the controller with Curtis handset 1311-4401. There's no password defenetly.
I also managed to change the settings needed for NEO motors.
Now, I "just" have to convince the customer that spending a fortune on NEO motors is a good invesment.

Regards

The Neo motors came out with a service bulletin. yes it does require a software upgrade that is done with a Crown dongle designed for the wave.
I recommend reading the bulletin (12-04-01 )

The new NEO motors don't need new software.
It's just necessary to make 3 changes to settings in the Curtis controller.
This can be done by Curtis handset with OEM access.
The handset can be bought from Curtis.
I'm thinking of buying it but I wanted to check some things.

First of all I wanted to check can the settings be accessed
just with the handset or I need to have password from Crown.

Crownie, do you usually work with Crown equipment?
