Discussion:
Code T248

after using for a few minutes this code appears and this unit is not drivable. Engine also surges sometimes and when the engine just standing and idling it sounds like the injector timimg changes cause it gets loud like injector knock for 30 seconds or so and then normal for awhile and just gets loud and then quiet again. Any ideas.

I have seen quite a few of these and it is always the flywheel ring gear. Doesn't take much damage at all to throw that code and kill the truck.

Thanks Micky,
The error code that appears when it stops driving is T248. What does this code mean?

Hi Darren,
Sounds like you have a flywheel actual engine speed sensor fault.
You need to check for any damage to the sensor or wiring and need to check the sensor to flywheel ring gear clearance which should be 0.5mm.
If you require any more info please ask.
