If Code 57 appears when exiting Diagnostic Mode, verify that the firmware chip on the Operator Display Interface Card is at version 2005 or higher. If not, replace the Operator Display Interface Card. For chip location, see Figure 7-57 on page 7-31.
This code can occur in two ways:
* Truck operates with Code 57 displayed.
* Check continuity of wiring harness from display interface to Carriage Manager JP3-JPC18.
* If continuity is OK, replace the Operator Display Interface Card. See "Operator Display Interface Card" on page 7-81.
* Truck does not operate with Code 57 displayed.
* See "Troubleshooting Communication Fault Codes (50-series)" on page 5-20.
* Check for shorts to frame.
Hello colleagues I have this same failure change of vmc and display and still throws this error they had some solution thanks.
Had another unit with a code 57. Found out someone had plugged the main mast and mini mast weight sensors in the wrong spots, they were swapped.
Is it a BIG 57 that fills the whole screen?
After you go thru all the steps in the book for code 57, everything this topic has listed and if you still have a code 57 check the heartbeat at IL1 on the platform manager. If no heartbeat think about swapping out the VFC and the display card.
I agree with joe d. Just a couple more things for you. Check for shorts to frame and correct if found. The cable for the display manager sometimes breaks where it is tie wrapped to the r/s arm outter shielding may look good but ohm it out with handle up/down. Also you may just need to run a configuration download. (Key off. Depress both deadman and lift select button, key on and push lift select 3 or 4 times) when download is done code 57 will be displayed. Rekey and download is finished.
50 series codes are information errors. The easiest thing to look at is your over mast cables. Are they starting to spiral. Ohm the cables from the tractor manager to the carriage manager and check for shorts between wires as well.
