Discussion:
changing battery voltages in Toyota 7FBCU15

i got a few trucks currently that are using 36v batteries. I would like to be able to change them over to a 48v battery. I know that you can change it using the Service FUNCTION --> OPTION SET menu, but is there anything I would need to know before attempting this? Are all the components inside the truck able to handle this multi voltage?

please help ! thanks

By the way, I did not change the lights or horn either, and they all work fine!! so far.....

Had the same issue on a 7FBCHU25 truck, I went back to change voltage back to 48v from 36v with no luck. Confused as to why I could change from 48 to 36, but not back to 48 from 36; I went back to the programming section again and again. Finally I found that if I exited the programming at function #6; which happens to be "END" all works just fine. Previously I think I may have just turned off the key or something? to reset out of programming or service functions. Good luck!!

ok i have tried this with a second forklift and same story, get the error code e2-2.

I would like to add that both times the horn and lights weren't changed to 48v before the voltage change over.

anyone got suggestions ?

Need to check all options are correct or specific to units options per lift. Have seen this once before related to incorrect option set.

I ran the analyzer and it points me to either a harness defect or a thermo-sensor defect

how can I further check which is at fault ?

Fact of the week
The origin of "love" as the score zero in tennis is debated, but two main theories prevail. One suggests it's derived from the French word "l'oeuf" (egg) which resembles the shape of the number zero. The other proposes it's related to the Dutch word "lof" meaning "honour" as players might be playing for honour when scoreless.
